Supervisory Skills Training Topic - Counseling
The need for counseling in the workplace is an unfortunate circumstance, but it is part of a supervisor's role that cannot be avoided. Supervisors will encounter employee performance problems that extend beyond having a bad day or the need for more training. How effectively the supervisor can manage the counseling process will depend on their ability to build relationships, communicate, and follow the HR policies of their organization. This program provides a model for coaching that increases the chance for success in counseling situations. The course is designed to be interactive and to provide each participant with the opportunity to practice the techniques being taught. Video examples and role play exercises enable participants to develop their skills in the classroom before attempting them on the job.
